OBITUARY
MR C. H. HEWLETT By Telegraph—Piesa Association CHRISTCHURCH. September 3. The death Is announced of Mr C" arles Howard Hewlett, aged 64, general manager and director of the Canterbury (N.Z.) Seed Co., Limited. He was chairman of the Board of Govc -ors of Canterbury Agricultural College, a director of New Zealand Newspapers Limiter! the Queensland Insurance Co., the Perpetual Trustees Estate and Agency Co., of New Zealand Limited. a member of the advisory committee of the ’ heat Research and Plant Rest reh Institute, and a former preside- " of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce. With Captain Evan Dickson as pilot he was the first person to fly from Christchurch to Wellington, and was always prominent in aviation, being deputy chairman of the Canterbury Aviation Company.
