PLUNKET SOCIETY

GERALDINE BRANCH The president, Mrs J. Wyn Davison, occupied the chair at a meeting of the Geraldine Plunket Society on Wednesday afternoon. There were present : Mesdames J. S. Barker, J. M. H. Tripp, P. W. Hislop, R. P. Harper and G. A. M. Macdonald. The treasurer (Mr T. H. Bannehr), reported that a grant of £25 had been received from the Hobson Trust Fund. The president expressed gratitude to the Geraldine County Council for the generous grant. After discussion, it was proposed to hold a social afternoon for the mothers, Rangers and Senior Guides on November 18. The Plunket Nurse (Miss N. Bergin), reported that in the Geraldine district, visits to homes totalled 111, to rooms: adults 71, babies 44 and older children 19. There were four new cases. The car mileage was 214. In the Fairlie district, she had paid 25 visits to homes and visits to rooms included adults 88, babies 21 and older children 14. There were 3 new cases and the car mileage totalled 131. At Te Ngawai, there was one new baby. She had paid 36 visits to homes and the car mileage totalled 128.
