At the Wool sales 12,426 bales were offered ahd 8280 were sold, also 5714 privately. The demand for all better descriptions was well maintained, the prices for which were firm, blit the irregularity and weakness in regard to faulty wools was further accentuated, resulting in these being difficult of sale. The chief competition came from Yorkshire and Germany. Greasy merino made to 20*d per lb.
