THEFT CHARGES

ACCUSED REMANDED CHRISTCHURCH. September 2. Approximately £2OOO would be involved, said Chief Detective Dunlop in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when William Wallace McClelland, sharebroker and salesman, was charged that, at Cheviot, he stole £450, the property of John Graham McPherson The police said McClelland was arrested in Australia, and arrived in Christchurch under escort yesterday. A remand was granted till September 10. Bail was allowed, self in £2OOO and on surety of £2OOO, and accused to report daily to the police.
