FAIRLIE CLUB A SUCCESSFUL YEAR The thirteenth annual report to be presented at the annual meeting of the Fairlie Bowling Club says:— The official opening of the green was held on Thursday, October 24, 1935. Although the weather would not permit play on the green a large number of members assembled. The president, Mr D. For the closing day of the club there was a good attendance of both men and women players. Progressive doubles were played. Mrs Bourn and G. Sheehan won the leads’ competition with four wins each, while T. Stamp won the skip’s prize with four wins. Mr A. Annan expressed pleasure at the large attendance and referred to the successful season the club had experienced. He also thanked all members for their assistance during the season and spoke of the lady members’ good work in providing afternoon teas, etc. Mr Annan then declared the season closed.
