LABOUR PARTY

NEW MEMBERS ENROLLED The president of the Geraldine Branch of the New Zealand Labour Party (Mr P. M. McKenzie), who represented the Branch at the Dominion conference, reported to a recent meeting that the local Branch, with 258 financial members, had been congratulated by the conference on being the strongest unit of the organisation in the Dominion. A letter was received from the Temuka Labour Representation Committee in regard to the visit of Dr. D. G. McMillan, M.P., to Geraldine, on September 17, and a sub-committee was appointed to make the necessary arrangements. Sixteen new members were enrolled, and a number of nominations for membership were received.
