TENNIS
METHODIST CLUB A meeting was held recently to revive the defunct Kensington Methodist Tennis Club, and great enthusiasm was displayed by the large number present. The Rev. H. C. Matthews presided. It was decided to make enquiries as to the cost of renovating the court, and arrangements were made for working bees if necessary. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr J. Simmons; president. Rev. H. C. Matthews; vice-presidents, Messrs W. M. Hocking, R. J. Brown and G. Pettigrew; club captain, Rev. H. C. Matthews; vice-captain, Mr Ray Brown; secretary, Mr J. Butt; treasurer, Mr E. Hocking; ladles’ representative on the committee,, Miss G. Sanders.
It is anticipated that the club will have a successful season, and that the opening will be early in October.
