Visiting a seaside resort ten miles from Athens last night, King Edward danced with members of his party. He chose the menu himself. He said he wanted nothing specially prepared. Onlookers admired the King’s dancing. King Edward is expected at the Gallipoli Peninsula on September 3. He will visit the cemeteries and battlefields, and leave the same evening for Istanbul on an informal visit.

The British Embassy announces that the King will arrive at Chanak on September 3, rejoining the Nahlin at Istanbul on September 5. It will be the first time in history that a British monarch has landed in Turkey. It is expected that he will meet Kemal Ataturk, who is planning a ball in his honour.

a picnic tea yesterday at Porto Rafti, and personally carried baskets and a camera. He photographed the fishermen and accepted a bunch of basil from a Greek lady. The King spent Saturday morning aboard the yacht and visited the new tennis club’s stadium and the Royal Palace at Athens. He bought Turkish delight, papers, and books in the main street in Athens. His Majesty motored in the neighbouring villages. The King is expected to visit the tomb of Rupert Brooke on Skyros Island, after which he will visit Gallipoli war cemeteries and the battlefields, en route to Istanbul, probably returning overland. The Nahlin is epected to visit the Bosphorus, after a cruise in the Sea of Marmora.
