AUSTRALIANS IN AFRICA EASY VICTORY FOR VISITORS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright PORT ELIZABETH, January 8. The weather was gloriously fine, and the wicket was perfect when the match between Australia and Eastern Provinces was concluded. Australia won by an innings and 144 runs. The feature of the morning’s play was the dismissal of Richardson, who touched a fast ball from Davies, the diminutive wicket keeper Daly diving full length on the off to hold a brilliant one-handed catch. Davies bowled with great accuracy.

The Australian ’ tailenders made merry before the innings closed after 285 minutes’ play. Davies bowled excellently, Iris performance being recognised by the selectors, and he is almost certain to be nominated for the next test. The Africans’ second innings was just a procession after Bennett and Robson had appeared to master the opening attack.

McCormick bowled with great pace and deserved his good figures. Following are the scores:—
