RECIPROCAL TRADE

CANADIAN-AMERICAN AGREEMENT United Press Association —By Electric Telegrapn —Copyright (Received November 6, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, November 5. The acceleration of reciprocal trade treaty negotiations between the United States and Canada is expected to result from the visit of Mr W. Mackenzie King (Prime Minister of Canada) on Thursday. He will remain here until Saturday. On Friday he will be received at White House and will be the guest for the night of the President and Mrs Roosevelt. Although no official disclosures have been made, it is assumed that trade will be one of the principal topics of conversation between the President and the Prime Minister, as the Bennett Government had already made considerable progress in the trade negotiations. It is thought possible that the conclusion of a treaty will be announced in two or three weeks. Whether the prospective treaty will conflict in any way with the Ottawa agreements and, if so, how the matter may be adjusted with London, is the principal point of speculation here in anticipation of the Canadian statesman’s visit.
