FINAL SITTING OF YEAR By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, October 26. There was a short sitting of the Legislative Council at 10.30. The following Bills were put through all stages, and passed practically without disc : '->n: Trustee Amendment, Local Legislation, Appropriation, Housing Survey, Tobacco Growing Industry. Native Purposes and Finance. The House of Representatives met at 11.30 a.m. The Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes said there was no business to put before the House, and he had no information as to the progress made by the Legislative Council. The House therefore rose till the ringing of the bells. The House met at noon, and received a message from the Legislative Council that it had passed all Bills, Mr Speaker left the chair to present them to the Governor-General for signature. The House again adjourned till the ringing of the bells. Meantime the usual mock Parliament was held. Mr H. S. S. Kyle being Speaker, Mr Te Tomo causing much amusement by delivering a speech in Maori. The House of Representatives met this session on 35 days, spread over 59 days. The House sat 193 hours 14 minutes before midnight and five hours 14 minutes after midnight. The daily average was five hours 50 minutes. Only five divisions were taken. Seventy-eight public Bills were presented, of which 17 lapsed, or were otherwise disposed of; 60 received the Governor-General’s assent; one was reserved for the assent of His Majesty.
