Stalin, conferred for two hours at the Kremlin. The discussion was on similar lines to yesterday’s. It is understood that Colonel Beck has conditionally agreed to Poland entering a system of general security Pacts, but entry hinges on questions concerning Germany and Lithuania.
FRANCO-RUSSIAN AGREEMENT ATTITUDE OF ANXIOUS NEIGHBOURS United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received May 15, 8.0 p.m.) LONDON, May 15. The Moscow correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says: “It appeal’s certain that M. Laval and M. Stalin have agreed upon the principle of a multilateral pact of non-aggression, such as Herr Hitler expressed willingness to enter. Poland is understood to be willing to join on condition that Germany adheres, and Czecho-Slovakia is not included. The three Baltic States will accept if Germany does. Other subjects discussed included Russia’s pre-war debts to France, Communist activities and greater religious freedom in Russia.
WIRELESS FOR WAR EXPERIMENTS IN ITALY' ( United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received May 15, 8.0 p.m.) LONDON, May 15. The Rome correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says; “In the presence of Signor Mussolini, and the military experts, the Marquese Marconi carried out a number of important wireless experiments at a disused fort on the outskirts of the city. The greatest secrecy was observed. It is understood that Signor Mussolini is exceedingly pleased at the results.
