The recent advances in all sections of the investment market brought in an increased number of sellers on the Stock Exchange to-day and the upward trend of values received a check. Price variations, however, were negligible, and the tone of the market was firm. GOLD PRODUCTION Gold entered for export from the West Coast during the month of March amounted to 41220 z. made up from the various counties as follows: Buller 1790 z. Grey 8750 z, Inangahua 20940 z, Westland 9740 z. From New Zealand the total entered for export during the month was 14.2170 z. made up as follows: Auckland 86850 z, West Coast 4122 oz, Marlborough and Nelson 3980 z, Otago 5860 z, Southland 400 oz, other (not including gold obtained or contained in old jewellery, etc.), 260 z. NATIONAL TIMBER COY. The accounts of the above company for the year ended March 31, show a net profit of £3541, against £l3lß for the previous year, and a loss of £4506 in 1933. The directors recommend a final dividend of 2i per cent, make 5 per cent, for the year, compared w’ith 2J per cent, paid in 1934. Directors fees absorb £350 and £252 is carried forward against £561 brought into the accounts. The report states that the general improvement mentioned last year has been more than maintained. The prospects appeared satisfactory provided the demand kept at its present level.
