The market for merinos, comebacks and quarterbreds advanced 5 per cent, compared with the closing rates of the last sales. BIG DEMAND IN BRISBANE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright BRISBANE, May 14. Wools offered at the opening of the eleventh series of wool sales to-day were of finer quality than at last week’s auctions. Skirtings rose appreciably in price, while greasy wool was 5 per cent, dearer than the closing rates last week. Scoured wool was firm. There was practically a total clearance of the 12,660 bales offered. The top prices were: Greasy 161 d; scorned 26id.
