IMPROVED FINANCIAL POSITION By Telegraph—Press Association GISBORNE, April 5. The financial success of the Commissioner of Control in the Matakaoa County is indicated by the largely increased rate collections. For the last financial year £10,266 was received, including £4707 representing arrears from previous years. European landowners paid 77 per cent, of their levies, and the Native landowners 39 per cent., the latter showing a highly satisfactory improvement on the previous year.
