BISHOP’S PROTEST

WANT IN THE MIDST OF PLENTY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received February 8, 1 a.m.) LONDON, February 7. The Bishop of London, in submitting his report on unemployment to the Church Assembly at Westminster, said he had seen wheat burning in Canada, had heard that coffee was burned in Brazil, and barrels of herrings were thrown into the sea, yet there were people wanting food. The Bishop of Jarrow, in opposing reception of the report, argued that it was not the Church’s duty to make society fit for man, but man fit for society. The Assembly adjourned.
