THE WEATHER
Dominion Meteorologist General situation—A slight low pressure trough is crossing the North Island and barometers have risen over the South Island. Winds—Becoming southerly generally light in the far south, elsewhere temporarily moderate to strong, later decreasing again, Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rather rough between Banks Peninsula and Castlepoint, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Light southerly wind, later tending east and north, seas smooth to moderate. Weather —Some scattered and mainly light rains over the North Island and eastern districts in the South, elsewhere fine; temperatures cooler, but rising again to-morrow. Mr F. L. Wooles Wind—Variable, moderate northerly to westerly ruling. Weather —Mainly fair and warm. Conditions in Timaru The sky was overcast in Timaru yesterday morning, and the sun failed to make its appearance throughout the day. Conditions were warm, however, and were not unpleasant.
