A downward tendency in the investment section of the Stock Exchange was more noticeable in a comprehensive range of stocks to-day. No pronounced selling pressure was evident, but buyers were inclined to move more slowly in view of the drift of the Commonwealth oversea trade balance and the possibility that corrective measures may be taken. Government securities weakened. COLOMBO TEA AUCTION By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN. February 6. L. M. Wright has received the following cabled report on the Colombo t: auction of February 6—The market for medium and good teas was firm and advanced 1 to 2 cents following quality, which was good. Commons were slightly irregular. Next week’s auction is catalogued for 1,510,000 lb.
