Hewett says that in the air race the range of their ’plane was 1400 miles. They are making provision for additional petrol, so that the range whilst flying the Tasman will be at least 1600 miles. The machine will be equipped with wireless, so that they will be in touch with either Australia or New Zealand all the way. They expect the overhaul to be completed on Monday. They intend to leave Richmond early in the morning, enabling of a daylight landing at Auckland.
