Big Novice Boxing Stakes:

Willie McFarlane, of Glasgow, winner of two Powerhall sprints and British 100 yards champion, was beaten by Malcolm Dunn, Australia, for the Scottish 100 yards title at the Braemar Highland gathering. September 18. The time was 9 8-10 sec, a yard faster than the Powerhall winner showed when taking the British title at Hackney Wick in May. Dunn won by nearly one and a half yards, and did not appear to be fully extended. He had previously qualified for the final of the 100 yards handicap, but only finished fourth from the scratch mark after making an unusually rocky start.
