CHURNING BUTTER

NEW VACUUM PROCESS INTEREST IN AUSTRALIA Considerable interest has been taken in Australia in the new vacuum process of churning butter, developed to Mr F. W. Manton and Mr H. F. O. Twigden, who returned to land by the Monowai last week after a visit to Sydney. During their stay in Sydney, an exhibition was arranged of butter manufactured under the new process at East Taranaki some months previously, while a model of the vacuum churn was also demonstrated. The exhibition was arranged by Mr W. Laffan, senior dairy grader of the Federal Government, and technical officers of the New South Wales Government were also present, as well as others interested in the dairy industry. The butter exhibited had received high praise from the experts, and further scientific tests were to be carried out.
