STAFF DANCE
The hospitality of Messrs J. R. McKenzie, Ltd. was extended in cordial manner to the members of the staff and their friends when an enjoyable little function was held at the Cafe Carlton on Tuesday evening. The necessary arrangements and the assurance of pleasure for those who attended was undertaken by a committee comprising Misses L. Goddard, D. McIlroy, E. McEvey, C. Clancy, B. Atkins, M. Prosser, T. Pammond, and M. McKinnon. Interesting interludes were supplied by Miss I. Laurenson. who gave a piano solo; also songs by Mr J, Duncan and Mr C. Lane, and Mr Prank Newmarch also entertained with conjuring items. Novelty items were entertaining features, the winners being Miss Rose Nugent and Mr G. Goddard (Monte Carlo), Miss P. Strachan and Mr Hall (lucky spot), Miss P. Keen and Mr Wayne (statue dance). Miss Mona Callaghan and Mr R. Thomson (balloon dance). Delightful vases of shaded ranunculi gave colour to the supper tables, and paper hats also suggested a further note of festivity. Those present inciuded—Mr J. Duncan (manager) and Mrs Duncan, Mr and Mrs Shanks, Mesdames W. Smaill, Shepherd, Misses Saniford, Thelma P-mmond. Jean Christie, E. Latimer, Jessie Taylor, Mona Callaghan, Audrey King, Betty Atkins.
