LATEST ESTIMATES By Telegraph—Press association WELLINGTON, November 8. A Gazette notice issued to-night contains a return of the estimated population of the Dominion proper at September 30 as follows: Including Excluding Maoris. Maoris Males 790.887 752,551 Females .. .. 760,898 725,519 1,551,785 1,478,070 The Maori population is 73,715, males totalling 38,336 and females 35,379. The figures for the North and South Islands, including Maoris, are: North. South. Males 516,530 274,357 Females .. ~ 487,638 273,260 1,004,168 547,617 During the quarter ended September 30 the population showed an increase of 2830 compared with 2420 for the corresponding quarter of 1933.
