A Gazette notice issued to-night contains a return of the estimated population of the Dominion proper at September 30 as follows: Including Excluding Maoris. The figures for the North and South Islands, including Maoris, are: North. South. Males 516,530 274,357 Females .. ~ 487,638 273,260 1,004,168 547,617 During the quarter ended September 30 the population showed an increase of 2830 compared with 2420 for the corresponding quarter of 1933.
