The Wellington Education Board carried a motion that the Board should strongly represent to the Minister of Education the advisability of providing for the teachers in Wellington, when he decides to resume the training of young people for the teaching profession. The-discussion brought out the question of whether teachers’ training should be carried out in conjunction with the university colleges, or separately. The motion originally proposed was for a training college in Wellington, j but this would necessitate a building, ! and the motion as carried was re- i ferred to as a clever bit of tactics, J which satisfied the divergent views of | members.
