OFFSIDE RULE

ORDER-IN-COUNCIL ISSUED. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 18. A supplementary Gazette was issued to-day containing an Order-in-Council clarifying the position regarding the offside rule for motor vehicles. It states that every driver of a motor vehicle, when approaching any intersection at which traffic is not for the time being controlled by a police officer, traffic inspector or the presence of a compulsory “stop” sign, shall give way to any other vehicle approaching on his right. He must also give wav to a tram approaching from any direction. No driver may increase his speed when approaching an intersection under the circumstances set out above.
