Prince George, using the Prince of Wales’s private aeroplane, flew to the Hatfield aerodrome where he saw the largest display yet given by civil aircraft in Britain, 70 machines participating, including the bombing of a motor car by auxiliary air force squadron, aerobatics and a 2.000-ft. parachute descent by Joan Meakin. With a glider, towed to a height of 4,500 feet, a Bristol airport pilot slipped the cable and broke the loop record, making 18 loops.
