BOWLING

CHRISTMAS TOURNEY DOUBLES COMPETITION Visiting and local bowlers were favoured with extremely warm weather for the continuation of the Christmas tournament yesterday, but in the afternoon the nor’-wester detracted from the enjoyment of the games, and made play extremely difficult. Yesterday was devoted to the doubles, for which splendid entries were received, four greens being in use. At the end of the day's play, the green semi-finals had been played on West End, Ashbury and Park, but a triple tie in one section on the Kia Toa green put the programme there back somewhat, and the divisional winners have not yet been found.
