STRONG POSITION OF CHURCH OF ENGLAND. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 14. 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, December 13. Annual statistics show that the Church of England is holding its own in the number of church people, over eighteen on the electoral rolls namely 3,652,424, of whom 2,279.713 were Easter communicants. There were 406,069 baptisms during the year. The Sunday school scholars totalled 1,783,001, voluntary contributions £6,309,843, of which £1,177,967 was for the support of the clergy and £453,628 for missions.
