A militaristic air pervaded the new Reichstag, when it assembled in the Kroll Opem House, over 600 members being in uniform, the majority in Brown Nazi garb and red brassards. The assembly w ? as reminiscent of war time. A gathering of thousands of spectators was disappointed at the absence of Herr Hitler, who was welcoming the cruiser Kiln at Wilhelmshaven from a world cruise. The House elected General von Goering as President of the Reichstag by acclamation, and chose three new Vice-Presidents. The proceedings were short and snappy, the roll call being dispensed with. The session was the briefest on oleht minutes.
