PLUNKET SOCIETY. The president (Mrs W. Davison) occupied the chair at a meeting of the executive of the Geraldine branch of the Plunket Society on Wednesday afternoon. The treasurer (Mr H. M. Bannehr) reported that the credit at the bank amounted to £54, and accounts to December amounted to £SO. Attention was drawn to the fact that subscriptions were not coming in freely. The position was considered by the committee, and it was decided to hold Plunket Day on March 14. The Plunket Nurse (Miss C. Welsh) reported that 140 visits had been paid to the Geraldine room, and 142 visits had been paid to homes. There had been 31 telephone calls. There were six new babies. Car mileage totalled 220. In the Fairlie district 78 visits had been paid to the roms, and 56 to homes. There were two new babies. Nineteen telephone calls had been received, and the car mileage totalled 112. In the Te Ngawai district 43 visits had been paid to homes. There were three new babies, and 16 telephone calls. The car mileage was 219.

WAIHI REBEKAH LODGE. Sister K. Aker, N.G.. presided over a good attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of the Waihi Rebekah Lodge. Correspondence was received from Grand Lodge and also from a Lodge In Wellington with regard to an appeal for assistance in a deserving case. Two new members were initiated. Bro. McCabe decided to stand down in favour of Bro. Harris as G.L.R. Next Lodge night the married Sisters will entertain the single Sisters and Brothers at a social evening. W. C. T. U. Mrs F. H. P. Wallach presided at the annual meeting of the Geraldine branch of the W.C.T.U., held in the Methodist Hall. The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs F. H. P. Wallach; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. F. Coursey, W. J. Couling and C. Borrell; treasurer, Mrs D. Macdonald; secretary, Mrs Boutherway, with an assistant; cradle roll superintendents. Mrs C. W. McKenzie and Miss M. McKeown; reporter, Mrs Prattley. It was decided to hold a "cradle roll” garden party in February, with a “bring and buy” stall. A collection of gifts was made for the Willard Homes. Mesdames E. Undrill, D. Macdonald and W. H. Broad were the afternoon tea hostesses. Mr E. Cholerton. Optical Specialist, proprietor of John R. Procter, Ltd., Christchurch, will be making a personal visit to Waimate on Saturday 9th December, and may be consulted on all defects of eyesight at the Royal Hotel.
