THE WEATHER

Mr F. L. Wocles. Wind fresh south to, south-east, weather cold, with an occasional shower likely. Outlook for week ending May Ist: Wind mainly easterly to southerly; weather more or less cold and unsettled, with fairly frequent showers. Dominion Meteorologist. The depression responsible for the recent stormy conditions is now centred east of Chatham Islands. An intense anti-cyclone covers the greater part of Australia, and extends on to southern New Zealand. Expect moderate to strong southerly winds. Seas rough. Weather cold and changeable, with scattered showers in eastern districts, and the far north and south; but mainly fair in districts with a westerly aspect.
