LOCAL BODY ADMINISTRATION

APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSION. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. Mr Forbes said to-day that the Minister of Internal Affairs was inquiring into the question of local body administration, and when his inquiry was completed, a Commission would be set up. It was hoped, as a result of the Minister's investigation, to be able to limit the scope of the order reference, and also to obviate the necessity for the Commission travelling to all parts of the Dominion. It would not be possible, said Mr Forbes, to deal with the problem from a legislative point oi view this session.
