FIRE BRIGADE CLUB The final shoot of the season for tiie Fire Brigade Miniature Rifle Club was concluded last week. No outside trophies have been won by the Chin, but the standard of shooting has bee.l very satisfactory. Considering that the shooting membership consists of ten, the fact of an “A” and “B team b > ing entered in both the Herald and Havhurst Shield competitions reflected credit both oil the standard of shooting and the enthusiasm of members. The “A” team were third in the Levvis Cup shoot, off the rifle. In the Club shoots the high average of 78 7 was maintained by J. Moore, who is the Club champion for this season. Unfortunately, one member, whose average is usually good, was unknowingly shooting with a defective rifle until nearing the end of the season, thus spoiling his own average and also mitigating against his teams sucThe results of the Club shoots during the year were as follows.Club championship and winner of the Colonel Thomas Memorial Shield for 1932—J. Moore, average 78.7. Runners-up. —G. Campbell and AHooke, average 77.2. Segar weekly button. —J. Moors 8 wins, G. Campbell 2 wins. A. Hooke 2 wins R. Hill 2 wins, C. de Clifford 1 win, H. Gledhill 1 win. W. Best 1 win. Mr Wm. Raymond's Handicap tropliy —C. de Clifford. Mr Wm. Raymond's “Own Start trophy—W. Best. Mr Wm Robert's Handicap—W. Be.si.. Mrs P Campbell’s trophy for young shots—F. Sollis 1, C. de Clifford and K. Watkins (equal) 2. Messrs Thomson and Campbell s A i Grade" trophy (7 shoots).—J. Moort. 515 1, G. Campbell, 541 2. Messrs Thomson and Campbell’s “B Grade” trophy (7 shoots)—W. Best, 538 1; C. de Clifford 532, 2. At the final meeting oi me year, the chairman (Mr W. Best) spoke appreciatively of the support given him as captain by the officers and members, ; and congratulated them on their . shooting for the year. A trophy donated by W. Best for the ! highest score with handicap on the ' opening night of the season was won by a Hooke.
