WOOL SALE
SMALL CATALOGUE IN DUNEDIN. SLIGHT RISE IN PRICES. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, September 29. A supplementary wool sale was held to-day. Catalogues comprising over 1800 bales were offered to a representative bench of buyers from overseas and- local mills. The bulk of the wool offered was fleece of the crossbred type, there being only a small portion of fine wool. Included were a number of lots which were passed at the April sale, on account of growers not being prepared to accept the prices then ruling. There were very few lots ot super wool, the bulk of the offering being of average quality. Continental buyers were the chief purchasers of fine wools, with the local mills bidding up on lots suitaole for their requirements. Bradford was also competing for crossbreds. Compared with the April sale, finer wools advanced by id to Id per lb. Crossbred, excepting for coarser lines, advanced by about id to 3d per lb. There was very little alteration in pieces and crutchings, which sold at up to 51d for best grade of crossbred.
