TRADE EXHIBITION IN DENMARK
BIG ORDERS FOR BRITAIN British Official Wireless (Received September 28, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, September 28. The enormous interest displayed by the Danes and visitors from other parts of the Continent in the British Trade Exhibition at Copenhagen, is being maintained, and exhibitors say they have not elsewhere experienced anything like the enthusiasm that is being shown there. Police have still to keep the crowds moving in the exhibition grounds, to prevent congestion. Many large orders have been taken, and more are in train, the general impression being that the exhibition has undoubtedly given a great stimulus to British trade in Denmark.
The Prince of Wales to-day spoke at a luncheon in Copenhagen, given by four big Danish organisations, representing commerce, industry, agriculture and shipping. The Prince said there was distinct evidence that British manufacturers’ enterprise was being rewarded, and that the interest taken in the exhibition was very real. Some substantial orders had already been placed, and he was sure that those who made purchases from British manufacturers would be satisfied, and would see that Britain was prepared to do everything possible to meet the needs of Denmark. He hoped that the personal contacts established through the exhibition would be useful to both Danish and British firms.
