WINCHESTER.
HEAVY RAIN. The rainfall which commenced on Saturday afternoon continued throughout Sunday. At 9 a.m. on Sunday morning the gauge showed 37 points; and at 9 a.m. on Monday a further 292 points had fallen. This is the heaviest one day’s rainfall recorded since records began at this station in 1925. On only two other occasions have upwards of two inches been recorded, viz, July 17th, 1929, 273 points; and January 13th, 1930, 206 points. TENNIS TOURNEY.
