A BUSY PORT.

HOME LINERS AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, January 26. The Wellington wharves are very busy at the present time. Seven overseas liners were in port yesterday, while to-day there will be six big liners, with a total cargo capacity of over 70,000 tons, all loading for Home. All six vessels are loading frozen meat, butter, cheese, and wool. The first shipment of new season’s export apples to be loaded in Wellington is being taken by the Port Caroline, which will also load a large consignment of apples at Auckland. This is exceptionally early for the fruit export season, which usually commences in February.
