TEMUKA-TIMARU ROAD RACE. On Saturday, the Timaru Harrier Management Committee will run the annual Temuka-Timaru road race. Seventy-three entries have been received, and the race will be interesting from the spectators’ point of view. Amongst the competitors will be some of New Zealand’s foremost runners, including J. G. Barnes (one of the finest performers over cross-country or road in New Zealand), A. D. Park (present holder of the Canterbury cross-country championships), S. Anderson (Leith Club, Dunedin), who finished second in this race last year, E. C. Brown, who has finished well up in the most important races in Dunedin this season, and H. Taylor, of Timaru, who won the Waimate cross-country race a month ago. A teams race is run in conjunction with the event, and teams have entered from Dunedin, Christchurch, Waimate and Timaru Clubs.
