He carried an unfinished break to 2835, and completed the afternoon session, in which Newman scored 31 with 273 unfinished, which in the evening he carried on to 451. Newman made a break of 189, after which Lindrum, showing most brilliant form, with marvellous control of the ball, made 2794 unfinished. The scores were:—■ Newman 16,819 Lindrum ~ 13,039
