ORDERS FOR WHEAT.
ARGENTINE GOVERMENT S PROPOSALS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received February 8, 7.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, February 7. The Buenos Aires correspondent of the “New York Times” states that in an effort to free the Argentine farmers from the impositions of foreign cereal export firms, the Minister of Foreign Affairs has instructed the Argentine diplomatic agents in Britain, France, Germany. Italy, Holland and Belgium to visit the millers and try to sell to them Argentine wheat to be shipped direct by the Government without the intervention of the middleman. The Government contends that foreign exporters are depressing prices, and that the low exchange and cheap ocean freights make it impossible for the diplomats to get orders.
