Bronze ornaments require different cleansing treatment from other metals. Rub over them a little furniture cream, wipe off, and polish thoroughly with a soft cloth.
If the lacquer shows signs of wearing off, the ornament should be returned to the manufacturer for treatment.
Christmas pudding mixture should drop heavily from the spoon when stirred. If too moist, it will make a heavy pudding; if too dry a crumbly one. Breadcrumbs help to make it lighter. Prepare and mix the dry ingredientg before adding any moisture. See that the water in the pan boils the whole time, and replenish it when necessary with boliing water.
Electro-plated silver washed in an enamel bowl should be protected by a dishcloth spread at the bottom of the bowl to prevent the plate from getting scratched. If a wooden bowl is available, this is best for the purpose. Water marks will show if the plate is not dried immediately it is taken from the water.
