PERSONAL.
Pu* Henry Pierse, of Yorkshire, accompanied by Lady Pierse, is visiting the Hermitage. The Rev. Harold T. Peat, with Mrs Peat and family, will leave to-day on a three-weeks’ caravan tour, travelling as far as Queenstown. Lord Bledisloe and party, after a week’s stay, left Dunedin for Gore and Invercargill yesterday morning. His Excellency joined the Government steamer Matai at Bluff and is proceeding to the West Coast sounds.
The Rev. Father James Fraher, S.M., a Catholic priest formerly of New Zealand, who died in Brisbane last week, was 46 years of age. He was born in Greymouth, and was educated at St. Patrick’s College, Wellington. He later attended the Marist Seminary at Greenmeadows, Hawke’s Bay. He was engaged in parochial work in Greymouth, Temuka, and Blenheim, while during the last few years he was parish priest at Otaki and Hastings. Last year he was appointed vice-superior and procurator of the Marist Mission House, Glenlyon, Brisbane.
