MASS MASSACRE

RUSSIAN FEROCITY. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RIGA, February 3. The greatest massacre of officers since the early days of the Soviet revolution is reported. The O.G.P.U. carried out a mass execution of all the remaining ex-naval officers, amounting to several hundred, who had not entered the Soviet service, althrough remaining in Russia. The victims were shot at various prison camps, where they had been confined since last year. Relatives appealed to their coreligionists at Aiga to hold requiems, which were not permitted in Russia. Accordingly the Orthodox Russian Church is organising a great Painkhida to-morrow.
