ANNUAL PICNIC
J. BALLANTYNE AND CO. LTD. The employees of J. Ballantyne and Co. held their annual picnic at Lyon’s Bush on Saturday in fine weather. The weather being bright and warm, it was evident that all thoroughly enjoyed the outing. The success of the day’s outing was due in no small measure to the splendid working committee, and to the efforts of all present to make the day an enjoyable one. The following were the results of the sports:— Ladies (house) Handicap.—Miss O. Rae. Men’s (house) handicap.—Mr W. McJennett. Three-Legged Race (mixed).—Mr F. McKenzie and Miss J. Currie. Ladies’ Three-Legged Race.—Misses M. Stephen and A. O’Brien. Egg and Spoon (ladies).—Miss K. Rodgers. Egg and Spoon (men’s). —Mr G. Barbour. Wheelbarrow (mixed).—Mr J. Grayburn and Miss M. Stephen. Elopment Race. —Mr C. Triggs and Miss M. Stephen. Thread the Needle.—Mr J. Fowler and Miss K. Rodgers. Swimming (men).—Mr J. Grayburn. Swimming (ladies).—Miss S. Bracefield. Men’s Consolation Race.—Mr C. Howarth. Ladies’ Consolation Race. —Miss N. McKay. Nail Driving. Miss V. Hight.
