PROVINCIAL COUNCIL. The annual meeting of the Canterbury Rechabite Provincial Council was held in Timaru at the Wentworth Hall, which was kindly lent by Mr Runciman, on Monday. P.C.R. Bro. Foster presided over an attendance of thirteen delegates and visitors. Sister A. Pycroft was appointed minute secretary for the day, and to act as Press reporter. After the correspondence had been dealt with, D.D.R. Bro. C. H. Bascand outlined the scheme for hospital benefit and urged members to discuss various phases with their tents. The secretary’s annual report showed an increase of 211 members (which was considered very encouraging), and a credit balance of £l3/18/9. Thanks were due to the tents and their secretaries for this progress. The D.C.R. Bro. Martin, also thanked those who had made donations. The report of the P.S.F.M., Sister G. Hastings, showed an increase for, the year of 111 sisters in the Provincial District. Bro. Robinson, P.S.J.T. reported on the juvenile movement, urging members to improve this section by their interest, and giving hints for the progress of the juvenile movement. A special committee was set up to deal more fully with juvenile matters. The three reports were adopted, and the officers thanked for their untiring efforts. Some discussion took place on the counting of members twice when they belong to more than one tent. The D.C.R. heartily thanked Bro. Bascand for presentation of a silver cup for competition among the lodges, and also Sister Hindle for a silver medal to be presented to the child introducing the most children into the Order. Votes of thanks were passed to BroRunciman for the use of the hall for the day; to Sister Hastings for the pro- j mise of a medal for competition; and I to the Triumph Tent for the way it had arranged for their enjoyment while in Timaru. The next annual meeting is to be held in Christchurch. Before leaving Timaru, the delegates were entertained at tea by the local tent. The election of officers resulted as fellows: —P.C.R.. Bro. Kaye; P.D.R., Bro. H. P. Smith; P.L., Bro. Good; P.G.. Bro. Williams: secretary, Bro. Bayliss; minute secretary. Sister A. Pycroft: P.S.F.M., Sister G. Hastings; P.S.J.T Bro. S. Robinson; auditor Bro. Bascand: proxies for Timaru. Bro. Bascand and Sister A. Pycroft. The officers were installed by the D.C.R.. and afterwards returned thanks for their election.
