STRANDED STEAMER.
ATTEMPTS TO REFLOAT FAILS. (United Press Asaociatlon—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) COLOMBO, September 26. Attempts to refloat the German steamer Hochst have not been successful. A heavy swell and strong current pushed the vessel further on the reef. A thousand tons of cargo was jettisoned. The crew is working in shifts day and night to keep the water out of the holds.
