PARIS THEATRES.
FIGHTING INCREASED TAXATION. (United Preas Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received September 27, 7.0 p.m.) PARIS, September 26. The threatened closing of the theatres, following the proprietors’ refusal in April last to pay the proposed municipal taxes has been obviated by a reduction by 20 per cent, of the poor tax, but the trouble has been transferred to ever-increasing dance halls to which 7 per cent, has been added.
