FATALITY IN MINE. By Telegraph—Press Association. INVERCARGILL, June 13. John Howd, an employee of the Linton Coal Company, lost his life In the Linton mine this morning as a result of a prop being knocked out and the coal it was supporting falling and crushing his skull against a truck. DEATH FROM WOUND. By Telegraph—Press Association INVERCARGILL, June 13. David Richardson (63), of Dunedin, a married man with a family, who was employed as camp cook at the Golden Terrace dredge, Lower Shotover, and who was found with his throat cut on 10th. June, died in Frankton Hospital last evening. ACCIDENTAL DROWNING. By Telegraph—Preaa Association. NAPIER, June 13. At the inquest on Francis O’Donnell, drowned while inspecting flood damage at Meanee on May 19 last, a verdict of accidental death was returned. The Coroner congratulated Messrs Burgess and Muir, especially the latter on his efforts to rescue the deceased.
