FIGURES FOR PAST YEAR. The General Manager c«f the Municipal Electricity Department submitted the following statistics for the year ending Marcn 31, to Monday’s meeting of the Timaru Borough Council: — Total Units Purchased in Bulk.— 3,506,644 as compared with 3,31/7,998 on March 31, 1928, an increase ot 238,646 units; increase per cent, 5.4. Maximum Load. —1191 k.v.a., occurring on March 19, 1929, from 2.10 p.m. to 2.40 p.m D.C. Units Generated per Converter.—29,2oo units as compared with 114,500 units on March 31, 1928, a. decrease of 85,300 units; decrease per cent., 74.4. Total Connected L0ad.—7376.844 k.w. as compared with 6258.571 k.w. on March 31, 1928, an increase of 1118.273 k.w; increase per cent, 17. V. Cooking Load.—4l ranges installed during the year, load 1324. 7 k.w. as compared with 1043.2 k.w. on March 31, 1928, an increase of 281.5 k.w. Total number of ranges now installed, 192; increase per cent, 26.9. Lighting L0ad.—1543.38 k.w. as compared with 1369.04 k.w. on March 81, 1928, an increase of 174.34 k.w.; increase per cent'., 12.7. Water Heating Load.—4o heaters installed during the year, load 131 k.w. as compared with 91 k.w. on March 31, 1928, an increase of 40 k.w. Total number of heaters now installed, 128; increase per cent., 44. Heating Points.—2722 k.w. as compared with 2187 k.w..* on March 31, 1928, an increase of 535 k.w.; increase per cent, 24.4. Power Load.—43 motors installed during the year, load 1568-849 k.w as compared with 1476.331 k.w. on March 31. 1928. an increase of 92,518 k.w. Total number of motors now installed, 283. Total b.p. 2103; increase per cent. 6.2. Community Lighting L0ad.—24.5 k.w. as compared with 23.4 k.w. on March 31, 1928. an increase of 1.1 k.w. : increase per cent 4.7. Total number of lights installed 156 of which 120 are in service. Iteveneu reeeinved during year ending March 31, 1929, £1037 10s 4d. Street Lighting Load.—37 lamps installed during the year. Total k.w. in Series Transformers for street lighting 41 k.w. Total number of lights now installed 723, including Bay pillars (114). Number of new lights installed in last two yearn, 62; increase per cent. 5.3 per cent.
