AMERICA’S TARIFF.
FORMAL PROTEST FROM FRANCE (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, June 12. A formal Note has been received from France protesting against the proposal to increase the tariff on certain French products, which are being imported into the United States. The Note has been delivered to the State Department. Formal protests against the tariff have also been filed by Spain, Italy, and Persia, while more than a dozen nations have forwarded material through the State Department for consideration by the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee.
